What is stevia?

Stevia is one of the herb plant that live in the Paraguay and other tropical areas of the Americans, the stevia plant (stevia rebaudiana) produces leaves packed with super-sweet tasted that remain stable even after the leaves have been dried. Stevia leaves have been used to sweeten teas and beverages throughout South America for centuries. 

Most of people are confusing about this sweetener and sugar, but it is not sugar. It is naturally very sweet and considered 100 to 200 times sweeter than sugar. What make this herb different from sugar is it doesn't raise blood sugar level like sugar and other artificial sweeteners do.

Is it save to consumed stevia?

Since Stevia has been touted as "natural" sweetener and an alternative to sugar so it is save to consumed and suitable for all ages. This is due to the zero calories that sugar have compared to sugar. It is suitable for diabetics and other chronic disease.
